Abolition of solo dance championship qualifying competitions
Following on from NISA’s announcement to abolish qualifying competitions for the solo dance championships, there has been growing strength of feeling in the dance community that this decision should be re-considered, following proper consultation with its technical dance committee, coaches and skaters.
The format of the solo dance championships has been exceptionally successful over its 13 year history – something that NISA has confirmed itself and it is apparent from the views of the wider dance community that it is well-accepted by the coaches, skaters and parents. This format has now been changed without full consultation, which has saddened many, and concern has been expressed for the future.
Please do sign the petition – if we can show enough strength of opposition to these proposals, it is hoped that NISA might re-consider its decision.
